  2. Today we read The Brementown Rappers and The Brementown Musicians. Ms. Price told us to write about how these stories are alike and different.

In The Brementown Musicians the animals want to be musicians. In The Brementown Rappers the animals want to be rappers.

Both stories have similar characters. They both have a dog, a donkey, a cat, and a rooster. Both stories also have songs. In both stories the animal’s owners didn’t need them anymore, they both had robbers, the animals meet on the road, and they both have the same city name.

In one story the animals wear clothes and in the other story they animals don’t wear clothes.

We made a connection to The Ugly Duckling because the ugly duckling’s mother didn’t want her/him to stay and the animal’s owners didn’t want them to stay their. We also made a connection to Little Red Hen when she went to the mill with the grain and when the donkey took the grain to the mill on it’s back. When the animals sang in both stories it reminded us of the song “old McDonald had a farm”.

We enjoyed reading both of the Brementown stories. We liked it when the animals rapped.
Ms. Price’s class wrote this today after we read these stories.
