The Doll People

It's time to answer some questions about our chapter book "The Doll People":

1. Explain the Doll Code of Honor.  What is it?  Could you follow it if you had to?

2. What information does Annabelle find in Auntie Sara's diary?

3. What kind of cat is the Captain?  Is he a threat to the doll family?

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of this book -- I found a website where you can purchase the book for only 25 cents!  Here is the link to that site:

Recycling Project

Second Grade
Recycling Project 2010

Beginning next week, our class will begin research on recycling. As part of their research, I am asking each student to choose some kind of project to complete that shows that they can Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. There is only one requirement – it must be made out of something that was previously used as something else.
The sky’s the limit as to what you can do! (Here are just a few ideas of what you and your child may choose to do: make a decoration/craft out of something you recycled, or make a bird feeder out of an old milk carton, or turn an old pair of jeans into an apron.) Let’s get creative!
Please have your child bring his/her completed project to school by
Monday, October 25th.
Contact your teacher if you have any questions.
Good luck and happy recycling!

It's Pumpkin Time

Last week our class read the book "A Day at the Pumpkin Patch" by Megan Faulkner.

What did you learn about pumpkins:

Is a pumpkin a vegetable or a fruit?

What is that funny name for the stem of a pumpkin?

What is another name for the outer skin?

What do we call the inside of a pumpkin?

What is the largest variety of pumpkins?

Just for fun - watch this video
